Edible food-grade crickets to stay on British shelves after industry body secures Parliament approval

29 Feb 2024 — Consumers across Great Britain will continue to have access to F&B products enriched with food-grade edible insects — namely, Acheta domesticus (house cricket), Tenebrio molitor (mealworm) and Gryllodes sigillatus (banded cricket) — which are increasingly seen as a viable source of nutrition, with a lower cost of production and environmental footprint than animal-derived products.
