EU glyphosate reauthorization faces roadblock as key countries abstain from vote

16 Oct 2023 — The European Commission (EC) proposal to re-authorize glyphosate, a controversial chemical commonly used in weedkillers, failed to achieve a qualified majority. The proposal will now proceed to an appeal committee, which is expected to discuss and vote in  November.
